The Robertson County Community Foundation

2007 was a watershed year for the Foundation as the founding board reorganized and refocused on the task of operating as a true "Community Foundation."   Having long been the home of funds donated for Robertson County Reads, our Imagination Library organization, the Foundation in 2007 received donations establishing two new designated "pass through" funds for the benefit of Willow Oak Center for Arts & Learning in Robertson County and The World War II Memorial Fund.   Two  new permanent endowment funds were also established and through these  the Foundation made significant grants in 2007 to the Springfield High School/Boyce Smith Field renovation project, the Robertson County YMCA, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Focus on the Family, Open Door Crisis Pregnancy Center, and Robertson County Friends of the Animal Shelters.  

The Foundation also welcomed the affiliation of The Scholarship Foundation of Robertson County.This foundation, established by the Springfield Rotary Club in 1997, has awarded 140 scholarships valued at nearly $300,000 to Robertson County students pursuing college and recognized vocational degrees. The Scholarship Foundation, with its endowment of nearly a half million dollars, is partnering with the Robertson County Community Foundation to jointly promote charitable giving to both foundations.
